Nightmare Realm

The Nightmare Realm is a warped, spooky version of the Invader Zim world that exists inside of Dib's mind. It is inhabited by Halloweenies, most of which are monstrous nightmare versions of regular characters. The ruler of the realm is Nightmare Bitters, the nightmare version of Ms. Bitters, which means everyone within the realm have to answer to her or else.

The only appearance and mention of this realm was in "Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom", in which an accident caused Dib to phase in and out between the normal world and the Nightmare Realm.

Facts of Doom[]

Because the realm exists in Dib's mind, and contains horrible versions of nearly everyone in Dib's life, it can be assumed that the realm reflects an exaggerated dark image of how Dib sees the world.
Zim and Dib were the only ones from the normal world that visited the Nightmare Realm, which means they’re also the only two people that know of its existence.
The fact that Nightmare Bitters rules this realm seems to suggest that Dib sees Miss Bitters as an intimidating form of authority.
Even though the nightmare version of Zim and GIR weren’t seen, it’s clear that they do exist as there is a nightmare version of Zim’s base in this realm.
There is a Nightmare Nny living in the Nightmare Realm, which seems to suggest that Dib and Nny must have met off screen for a monster version of him to exist.
Nightmare Dib said that everyone in the Nightmare Realm knew who Dib was, which makes sense as they all live in his head.
- He also said that the inhabitants were done with the Nightmare Realm and ruined all of it, possibly hinting that by doing so they may have messed up with Dib’s mind.
Considering the Nightmare Realm exists within Dib’s mind, it can be implied that if Dib died someday, the realm would cease to exist.
- This may be a possible reason why everyone wanted to get out, although it’s not outright stated.
