Nhar-Gh'ok

Giganto Baby.

The Nhar-Gh'ok are an alien race from the planet of the same name that look identical to human babies. However, they are far stronger than the average human infant, capable of even denting metal with just a single punch. Zim encountered the leader of a military group of Nhar-Gh'ok, Sergeant Shnooky (alias Noogums) and his unit, who had been stranded on Earth for seven years in the place of some accidentally-abducted human infants.

Nhar-Gh'ok can spew acid from their mouths, but their most amazing ability is the way they are able to fuse together into one amorphous being known as "Giganto-Baby". The Nhar-Gh'ok also may have the ability to create a hideous smell to defend themselves, much like skunks.

The Nhar-Gh'ok made their only major appearance in "Plague of Babies". While Shnooky made a cameo in "Tak: The Hideous New Girl while other members of his unit appeared in "Door to Door" and "The Sad, Sad Tale of Chickenfoot".

Facts of Doom

• The concept of the Nhar-Gh'ok was created by Rob Hummel who wrote the episode. He has an actual problem with babies, as he finds them disturbing, especially when they breathe so heavily.
• The names of the Nhar-Gh'ok are based on baby talk.
• It’s possible that the Nhar-Gh'ok homeworld is somewhere in the Milky Way Galaxy due to their obvious similarity to human infants.
• It’s rather odd that Shnooky would call his squadron’s transformation the “Giganto-Baby”, due to his obvious disdain for being mistaken for a human baby.
• It's unknown if the species as a whole is aware of the existence of the Irken Empire, for Mary and Fred are proof that the Irkens are not known throughout the entire universe. However, Shnooky claimed that they will tell all of Earth about Zim specifically if he resists their efforts.
• The Nhar-Gh'ok  that Zim encountered are still stranded on Earth with the mental capacities of actual babies, which is disturbing for them as their “human parents” will undoubtedly pass away due to old age and may not have anyone to take care of them which means they could die as well as a result of not being taken cared off.
• In a sad way, the Nhar-Gh'ok now suffer from Peter Pan syndrome.
